The first international production of 2021 has landed in Tuscany a few days ago. It is Gabriel’s Rapture, the second chapter of the miniseries Gabriel’s Inferno, directed by the South African producer and director Tosca Musk, sister of the famous founder of Tesla, Space X and Neuralink Elon Musk, the second richest man in the world for Forbes. From 9 to 17 March, in collaboration with the Tuscany Film Commission, the crew will shoot in the historic center of Florence (Uffizi Gallery, Santa Croce Church, Piazza della Signoria, Lungarni), then at the Certosa and San Gimignano and finally in Umbria, up to to March 26. The miniseries Gabriel’s Inferno is taken from the homonymous novel trilogy of the thriller-erotic genre created by Sylvain Reynard and it’s visible in the steaming platform co-founded by Tosca Musk in 2017 Passionflix, dedicated to the adaptations of the best-selling romance novels and the great romantic classics.
Gabriel’s Inferno – What the miniseries is about
The protagonist of Gabriel’s Inferno is Professor Emerson – played by the italian actor Giulio Berruti – an expert on Dante Alighieri with a dark past. The unexpected meeting with the shy and sweet university student Julia Mitchell (Melanie Zanetti) will drive him away from his torments and teach him to love, while Julia, thanks to Gabriel, will find the strength to overcome her own insecurities. Suddenly, however, fate will turn its back on them… Inner conflicts, feelings of guilt and the desire for redemption: the Gabriel’s Inferno trilogy tells the story of a man on the run from his “personal hell”.
Gabriel’s Rapture – Production has also established itself in MDC Prato
The executive production of the fiction was entrusted to the Florence-based company Dado Production, which found almost all the technical cast and workers in the area. The film crew is in fact made up of 90% of Tuscans, including many from Prato. For the preparation of the fiction, among the locations used, Dado Production also made use of the comfortable and functional cineport spaces of Manifatture Digitali Cinema Prato, which thus continues to include important film and television productions among its guests.
In the cast of Gabriel’s Rapture, in the role of the tailor, also the actor Francesco Ciampi, “soul” of MDC Prato.
It was a great emotion to be directed by Tosca Musk, Elon’s sister – Ciampi said – More and more the spaces of Manifatture Digitali Cinema become the temporary home of national and international film and television productions, a fundamental place for welcoming and receiving services, thanks to Tuscany Film Commission which manages it.
